Founded by Chef Ann Cooper, the Food Family Farming Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created to empower schools to serve nutritious whole food to all students. Changing the outlook of our children's future through the power of choice, food and flavors – real whole foods in schools will impact our families and our food system in a profound way. F3 supports positive change through educational training programs, direct services, a web portal and collateral resources.
Vision:
Ensure that all children have access to healthy food at school to grow their bodies, minds and future.
Mission:
To provide tools that enable all schools, parents, advocates, students, administrators, teachers and food service staff to progress from serving highly processed, unhealthy food to serving fresh, scratch-cooked food.
Our Work:
Food Family Farming Foundation has been focusing its efforts on two projects: The Lunch Box - Healthy Tools To Help All Schools a web-based portal that enables all schools and school districts to make a healthy difference for all children in America. The Lunch Box provides the most current information and the pragmatic tools necessary to make good food available for all kids. Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools is helping schools take the first step to fresher whole foods by implementing salad bars as part of their meal programs. User feedback
since the launch has allowed us to refine areas of the website to increase ease of use, and in January 2011 we filmed website tutorials which are now available on every key area of the site. The current development projects for The Lunch Box include bringing users more recipes, new equipment grant opportunities and creating the Procurement Tool Module which is a critical need for schools shifting from processed ready to heat menus to scratch cooking and adding more recipes to The Lunch Box.
