Jesse Ziff Cool

Jesse Ziff Cool has been dedicated to sustainable agriculture and cuisine since the mid 70's as a writer, restaurateur, spokesperson and consultant for eco conscious food service. Jesse has authored 7 cookbooks, most recently, Simply Organic, Chronicle 2008 and has written throughout the years for dozens of publications.

 

She has founded 5 restaurants, currently operating three and a catering company in the SF Bay Area, including Flea St. Cafe  (1980) The Cool Cafe at The Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University (2000, The Cool Café at Menlo Business Park(2008) and Cooleatz Catering(2000). At her home garden and kitchen, Jesse is a lecturer for Stanford's Department of Education. Recently accredited, the Seeds of Change Flavor Garden inspires Masters of Education Elementary School Teachers in ways of building curriculum from the garden to the kitchen with a one pot, no recipe and 10 ingredient program.

 

She is a consultant for food service and health care, and created Farm Fresh at Stanford Hospital, offering an organic, local menu option to patients. http://stanfordhospital.org/farmfresh/ Jesse sits on the board of directors for EcoFarm and Oldways Preservation and Trust. Besides her passionate involvement in the ever changing issues about healthy eating, she spends as much time as possible, gardening, cooking and eating delicious beautiful food.

 

Joseph Corr

Joe Corr is as an Associate Technical Director with Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, Colorado overseeing digital work for some of the agency's global accounts. Previously, he was the Manager of Technology at IQ Interactive, a founding Society of Digital Agencies member. An Interactive Developer/Designer with over 13 years of professional experience creating for the web, Joe has a background in Flash, Flex, Database Design and Management, Mobile Web and Application development, Interactive Billboards, and other interactive tools.

 

Additionally, Joe is a Lecturer with The University of Colorado, Boulder for the graduate program Boulder Digital Works.  At BDW, Joe runs national and international workshops to retrain traditional advertising owners and executives in the digital space, as well as acting as an advisor to students during their 60-week program.

 

Mara Fleishman

Approaching 8 years of service at Whole Foods Market, Mara Fleishman has had a strong passion for natural and organic foods since she was young. Her Mother took her every week to the Bread and Circus store in Wellesley, MA; Mara grew up instilled with the importance of good quality food. Mara brings a wide range of marketing experience to her current position having nearly 15 years experience working on regional, national and global brands. She started at Whole Foods Market as the Marketing Director for the North Atlantic Region and now works on Special Projects for the Global Marketing team. Mara has spoken about sustainable business practices on panels at Yale University and has been a guest lecturer at Colorado University, Leeds School of Business.

 

Alan Greene, MD

Dr. Greene is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine, the Founding President and Co-chair of the Society for Participatory Medicine, on the board of directors of Healthy Child Healthy World and the Organic Center. He is the author of many popular health and parenting books including Raising Baby Green and Feeding Baby Green. 

 

He has been featured in the New York Times and has appeared on CNN, The TODAY Show, Good Morning America - Health, and NBC, ABC, and CBS Evening News.  Dr. Greene was honored as one of "the 100 most creative and influential innovators working in health care today" and was named the Children's Health Hero of the Internet by Intel. He is the Founder of the pioneering consumer health Web site DrGreene.com that has touched millions of lives since its inception in 1995.

 

Bonnie Moore

Bonnie Moore is president of the consulting firm Moore Impact where she works with leaders in the hospitality business develop clear strategies and pathways for growth. A former sous chef at the legendary Inn at Little Washington, she continues to consult for The Inn on project and business development. Bonnie also applies her culinary expertise in an array of other settings. An in-demand culinary instructor, she brings her passion for food and health to life before hundreds of eager students at L'Academie de Cuisine and the national chain Sur la Table. As executive chef of Global Food & Nutrition, she has traveled to developing countries to conduct food demonstration classes, cooking workshops and recipe development as part of food aid programs.

 

Bonnie is a board member of the non-profit foundation Food, Family, Farming Foundation, dedicated to changing the food system in the U.S. to an ecologically sound, sustainable model. As past president of Women Chefs and Restaurateurs, she is a mentor for women in the industry and continues to promote women role models to inspire future generations of culinarians.

 

After graduating from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in Math and Statistics, Bonnie turned in her calculator in exchange for a whisk and wooden spoon! She earned an associate degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales University and a degree in pastry arts from L'Academie de Cuisine. Bonnie likes to be involved with food at every stage, from planting seeds at the farm to creating a meal for her family. She believes there is no better place to foster community and nourish those you love than sharing food at the table.

 

A native of Rhode Island, Bonnie now lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and their young son.

 

Roberta Nieslanik

Roberta "Bert" Nieslanik currently works for the Office of Alternate Defense Counsel. She spent 11 years at the Colorado Public Defender's Office and 3 years in private practice in Grand Junction, Colorado. She teaches at the National Criminal Defense College, Western Trial Advocacy Institute, New York Defenders Institute, Indiana Public Defenders Council's Trial Advocacy Program and the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy. Bert has participated in programs and workshops around the United States on various topics in Criminal Defense practice. She was the 1993 recipient of the Jonathan Olam Award, given to the top defense lawyer in the state of Colorado. Currently, her favorite pastimes are volunteering at a local alternative high school as a mock trial coach. Her passion is to trying to inspire each of us to be a little bit better than we are today.

 

Patrick O'Kelly - Treasurer

Since 1981 Pat has been Certified Public Accountant and Principal of Cahill O'Kelly and Associates in Boulder, CO. Pat is one of the owners and participants of the world class Colorado music festival in Telluride, Planet Bluegrass.

 

Karen Trilevsky

Karen Trilevsky founded FullBloom Baking Co. in 1989 and continues to play numerous critical roles at the fast-growing the company. With more than 220 employees, Karen has baked core values right into her company, taking tender loving care with its people, its delicious products, its customers and the planet. 

 

Karen currently sits on the Board of Directors of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs and FullBloom's own Smart Cookie Scholarship Fund. She recently graduated from UCLA's Entrepreneurship Program. She is also a member of Slow Food and the Chefs' Collaborative.

 

Carina Wong

Carina Wong is presently working as part of the College Ready Leadership Team at the Gates Foundation. She has worked in education policy at the national, state and local levels for over 15 years. She has worked on standards, assessment and curriculum reforms in several districts, including in Philadelphia as part of a $150 million Annenberg Challenge Grant. Previously, she served as Director of Youth Policy and Education at the Washington DC-based National Center on Education and the Economy. She is a former Peace Corps Volunteer and holds a master's degree in education policy from Stanford University and a master's in teaching from George Washington University. Carina was also Executive Director of the Chez Panisse Foundation from November 2005 until 2008.
