Greetings!
There's much to be grateful for this holiday season.
At the Food Family Farming Foundation, we are grateful
for you.
Starting with Thanksgiving and through December, most
of us can count on a bevy of delicious holiday meals
shared with family and friends. It's a time when our
energies are devoted to the essence of food quality and
preparation, and thoughtful consideration of ingredients
and cooking methods.. But for children all across our
country the meals they eat at school are often anything
but delicious, nutritious or thoughtfully prepared.
With your support The
Lunch Box Project wants to continue our focus on
healthy, minimally processed food by working
to help school lunch programs across the nation adopt
healthier alternatives to the pre-processed meals that
currently contribute to an epidemic of poor health and
obesity amongst our nation's youth. The Lunch
Box Project, currently in development, is an online resource
that will empower schools to reform their own lunch programs
instituting healthier and more sustainable practices
as we search to find solutions to our school lunch dilemma.
Millions of kids in the United States don't get
healthy food in schools. We want you to join us in our
quest to get a million people to support school lunch
reform.
This summer The
Lunch Box Project partnered with Whole
Foods Market to raise money for our cause. More
than 430,000 individuals donated between $1 and $5 at
checkout. This response filled us with gratitude
and showed us that there's a groundswell of people in
our nation who want to see school lunch change. Every
dollar we raise goes directly toward the development
of The Lunch Box
Project which will connect this free set of tools
to schools to feed our nation's children healthier food.
Whether you are a current or past supporter of the "Renegade
Lunch Lady" Ann Cooper and The
Lunch Box Project we know that you are
committed to making a difference for our nation's children. Your
continued support will help us make real change in the
lives of America's youth and build a culture of wellness
and sustainability for years to come. Let's give thanks
for what we have, but let's also invest in a better for
future, for our health, and for the health of our children.
Wednesday, December 2, was my birthday. Help me see
my birthday wish come true: that kids in this country
get better meals in school.
Let's give because we want our children to have a healthy
future.
